In Brussels, meeting was held today for Implementing Justice

In Brussels today was held bilateral meeting on the implementation of the Justice Agreement between the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo and representatives of the European Union. The Kosovo delegation led by Minister Edita Tahiri in the meeting pledged that the agreement for justice to begin implementation as soon as possible and informed the European Union that Kosovo has made all necessary preparations to extend the unitary system of justice in the north, where under agreement there will be a competent basic court for seven municipalities as defined by the Law on Courts, and a prosecutor’s office and also confirm that the other aspects of the agreement have been prepared for implementation. Also, issues related to the appointment of judges, prosecutors and administrative staff are already in the final stage and the issues related to the Court of Appeal, until the conclusion of this process, Kosovo remains committed to conclude in full cooperation with the European Union.

For their part, representatives of the European Union commended the progress made by Kosovo in the implementation of the agreement on justice stressing that they will engage maximally that this process is carried out under the laws of Kosovo and the Brussels Agreement.
Minister Tahiri on this occasion considered the agreement for justice of great importance for Kosovo because it enables the extension of state sovereignty in the field of justice in the north, which has been lacking for a long time and that will help the citizens there to matters dealing with justice and also praised the work of the working group on justice which is already working diligently for the effective implementation of this agreement.

Tomorrow there will be meetings on the issue of reciprocity for license plates between both countries in order to finalize the Implementation Plan under the agreement reached on 14 September this year. It will also continue talks on justice agreement to define further details of the implementation process. The day after tomorrow, 20 October on the agenda will be the issue of evaluating the implementation of the agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas.

Minister Tahiri ensures that despite misinformation that may arise from the Serbian side, in Brussels will not discuss the issue of Trepça because Trepça and all other assets are of the state of Kosovo and for them will never talked and will not talk to anyone .
The delegation led by Minister Edita Tahiri was composed by the Tonka Berishaj, Acting Head of Court of Appeal , advisor and coordinator of the matter Arjeta Rexhaj, Albert Avdiu, Director of the Secretariat of the Kosovo Judicial Council and coordinator of the working group for justice and a representative from the Embassy of Kosovo in Brussels, Haxhi Bajraktari.
