On the occasion of Croatia becoming the 28th member of the European Union, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi congratulated his Croatian counterpart, Zoran Milanovic and the people of Croatia.
The congratulations message stated:
Your Excellency, Prime Minister Milanovic,
It is my honor and privilege on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and in my own name to congratulate you on Croatia’s admittance as a full member of the European Union.
Croatia’s admittance into the European Union is a historic and political victory for the Croatian people and it is evidence that the democratization of our region has a secure Euro-Atlantic future.
Croatia is a good example of economic progress, the intensification of democracy, the implementation of reforms, the functioning of good neighborliness and the creation of security in the region, which aids other peoples and countries in the region.
The Republic of Kosovo and its people are sincerely delighted by Croatia’s membership in the European Union and believe that the Croatian people will increase their prosperity and flourish economically.
