Today in Brussels, a trilateral meeting was held of the working group between the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo chaired by Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri and Serbia mediated by the European Union to assess the implementation of the agreement to remove the barricade from the bridge over the Iber River and revitalization of the bridge by the European Union.
Minister Tahiri in the meeting evaluated the work begun by the European Union for the revitalization of the bridge on 14 August 2016 and considered that this process was as result of Brussels dialogue mediated by the EU and the support of the United States States.
In accordance with the conclusions of the agreement of 25 August 2015, the process of revitalization of the bridge is being implemented as agreed and the parties were satisfied with the current dynamics. The European Union will keep informed both mayors continuously through the EU Office in Kosovo, regarding developments on the works on the bridge of the Iber River.
Kosovo delegation was composed of the Minister Edita Tahiri, Gazmir Raci, political advisor and political coordinator of the issue, Arben Citaku, secretary general of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, Rashit Qalaj, Head of Operations in the Kosovo police, Agim Bahtiri mayor of south Mitrovica, Goran Rakic, mayor of northern Mitrovica, Elona Cecelia, political advisor to the Minister Tahiri and Haxhi Bajraktari from Kosovo Embassy in Brussels.
