The delegation of the Republic of Kosovo, led by Minister for dialogue Edita Tahiri, attended the meeting held in Brussels on the implementation of the Agreement on mutual recognition of vehicle insurances.
At this meeting, mediated by the European Union, it was agreed that on 12 August 2015 to start implementation of the Agreement for vehicles insurance between the two countries, Kosovo and Serbia.
During this meeting, both parties reported on the finalization of the technical preparations for successful start to the implementation of this agreement according to implementing plan. The parties pledged that they will make efforts to implement this agreement, which is facilitated and guaranteed by the European Union and the European Council of Bureaux.
On this occasion, Minister for dialogue Edita Tahiri, said that after this meeting, everything is ready to start the implementation of the agreement to ensure vehicle which is in the interest of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo because it removes a burden of payment of high fees and that from now on there is no need to pay additional fees during crossing in Serbia.
This agreement contributes to improving the free movement of citizens of both countries and is in accordance with European standards for free movement.
In the afternoon, respectively at 17:00 delegation of the Republic of Kosovo led by Ms. Tahiri is expected to meet with President of the European Council of Bureaux (ECB), Mr Jean Zenners. During this meeting they will discuss the possibilities of enhancing cooperation between Kosovo, with special emphasis on Kosovo Insurance Bureau, and the European Council of Bureaux, the implementation of KBE’s criteria by the responsible institutions of Kosovo, and perspective of Kosovo accession in the Council of Bureaux.
Kosovo delegation led by Minister Edita Tahiri is composed of: Rahim Pacolli, technical leader for insurance issues; Shaban Guda, Kosovo Police, Faton Abazi, director of SAC; Fatmir Gashi, Deputy Governor of CBK: Faton Pacolli, SAC; Rifat Kelmendi, SAC and Qemajl Marmullakaj, coordinator in the dialogue.
