The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi participates in the Economic Forum in Budapest during his official visit to Hungary

Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi together with the Hungarian Prime Minister, Mr. Viktor Orban, opened the Economic Forum being held in the Hungarian capital of Budapest. 

Senior government officials and business representatives from both countries participated in the forum. 

The goal of the forum is attracting foreign investment and signing agreements of cooperation between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and Hungary. 

Prime Minister Thaçi gave a speech on the occasion in which he invited them to invest in the Republic of Kosovo and informed Kosovar and Hungarian business representatives about the Government of the Republic of Kosovo’s achievement in strengthening the private sector. Prime Minister Thaçi also presented some of the main reasons for investing in the Republic of Kosovo. 

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Mr. Orban welcomed the organization of this forum and signing of an agreement on cooperation. In addition, Mr. Orban promised institutional support for businesses interested in investing in the Republic of Kosovo. 

During this forum, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the Kosovo customs and the Tax Administration and Customs of Hungary, between the Kosovar Agency for the Promotion of Investment and Hungarian Agency for Investment and Trade, as well as the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.          

This economic forum is part of the strategy of the Republic of Kosovo to attract foreign investment to the country and is organized under the patronage of the Prime Minister. During this year, forums of this character will be organized in other countries.
