Prime Minister Thaçi met with Mr. Akihiko Tanaka, President of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Mrs. Sadako Ogata, Special Advisor to President Tanaka

On the second day of the visit to Japan, Kosovo Prime Minister, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, met with Mr. Akihiko Tanaka, President of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Mrs. Sadako Ogata, Special Advisor to President Tanaka and former Senior Commissioner for Refugees at the United Nations.

During this meeting, on behalf of the Government and of the people of Kosovo, Prime Minister Thaçi thanked KICA for the assistance and the support that Japanese people and its government has provided to Kosovo.

Prime Minister Thaçi also thanked President Tanaka for the recent donations supported by the Japanese government through JICA in the field of environment by providing Kosovo 30 trucks for garbage collection as well as the assistance in waste management waste.
 
In the course of this meeting, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi informed Mr. Tanaka and Mrs. Ogata on the recent developments in Kosovo and on the progress achieved by Kosovo in the recent years as well as about the vision of the government of Kosovo for integration into Euro-Atlantic structures. Prime Minister Thaçi asked that Japanese assistance would move from the phase financial and professional assistance to the phase of investments and economic development.

On the other hand, Mr. Tanaka and Mrs. Ogata expressed their commitment and that of the Japanese International Agency for Cooperation to continue supporting Kosovo through projects in various areas according to the needs raised by the Government of Kosovo.
 
During the meeting, Prime Minister Thaçi thanked Mrs. Ogata for her precious contribution in assisting the people of Kosovo and invited her to visit Kosovo in a near future.
