During his stay in Istanbul where he is participating in the World Leaders of Change Summit, Prime Minister Thaçi also had a meeting with the Iraqi Vice President, Tarik al-Hashim, and discussed with him the prospect of recognition of Kosovo by Iraq and building of friendly relations in the interest of both countries.
During the meeting, the Iraqi Vice President, Tariq al-Hashim, promised Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi that Iraq is going to consider the recognition of Kosovo in an immediate future in order to open the way for promotion of good relations between the two countries.
Other topics of discussion also covered opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries.
