The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, started his official visit to Japan today.
On the first day of his visit, Prime Minister Thaçi met with Mr. Hiroyuki Ishige, the head of the Japan External Trade Organization.
During the meeting, there was discussion on the economic cooperation between the two countries and investment opportunities offered by the Republic of Kosovo to foreign investors.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Thaçi briefed Mr. Ishige on the steps taken by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in an effort to create an investment friendly environment and to attract international capital in Kosovo and called on the Japanese businesses to invest in Kosovo.
On his part, Mr. Ishige expressed his personal readiness and that of his organization to closely cooperate with the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to inform Japanese businesses about the opportunities offered by Kosovo.
During his stay in Japan, Prime Minister Thaçi will also meet with His Excellency, Crown Prince Naruhito. He is also scheduled to meet the Japanese Prime Minister , Yoshihiko Noda, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Koichiro Gemba and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Yukio Edano.
