Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova, Hashim Thaçi, received in a meeting today the Balkan Coordinator in Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mehmet Tasher and received the original letter of the recognition of the Republic of Kosova by the Republic of Turkey.
Prime Minister Thaçi expressed his gratitude to the state and the people of Turkey for the recognition of the independence and for the overall support for Kosova, pointing out that the special cultural and historical relations between Kosova and Turkey will be further promoted and advanced in the future, and pointed out that the Turkish community living in Kosova will give a precious contribution in serving as a bridge between the Republic of Kosova and the Republic of Turkey.
Ambassador Mehmet Tasher said that the act of the recognition of independence by the Republic of Turkey is a proof of special relations with the Republic of Kosova, and added on the occasion that Turkey is interested in supporting stability in the Balkans and believes that the independence of Kosova will contribute to the stability in the region.
