The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, applauded the FIFA decision to allow the Kosovo national football team to play international friendly games.
The statement by the Prime Minister reads:
FIFA decision to allow the national football team of Kosovo to play international friendly games is a major and important step for the Republic of Kosovo in the international arena that will help our new state be more recognized and show its values.
Over the recent years, Kosovo footballers have shown high qualities as part of various world national and club teams. Now, this decision will allow them to play under the colors of the state of Kosovo and to promote the Kosovo state, thus helping the Kosovo diplomacy to present the Republic of Kosovo in a dignified way throughout the world.
