Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi meets the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Koichiro Gemba

On the second day of his official visit to Japan, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, along the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Koichiro Gemba.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Thaçi thanked Mr. Gemba for the support that Japan has given and is continually giving Kosovo. 

“Japan is one of the first countries to have recognized the independence of Kosovo and one of the countries that has most supported the Republic of Kosovo since after the war,” said Prime Minister Thaçi.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo pointed out the importance to advance bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the state of Japan in the field of economy, agriculture, science, education and culture. Prime Minister Thaçi said that this is the right moment to further advance our interstate relations by focusing on cooperation in the trade and economic aspect. 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Gemba, confirmed the support of the Japanese Government by expressing full support for Kosovo and its vision for integration in the EU and NATO. 

“Japan feels proud to have supported the people of Kosovo and will continue to do so in the future,” said Minister Gemba.
