Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri meets Albanian Ambassador to Kosovo Islam Lauka

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Edita Tahiri was first congratulated by Ambassador Lauka on her new post at the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and on the consolidation of its new institutions.

Further advancing of cooperation between Kosovo and Albania in the field of foreign policy and other fields of interest was also discussed during the meeting along the intensification and coordination of development activities of both countries. 

Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri briefed Mr. Lauka on the course of the technical dialogue between the independent state of Kosovo and Serbia pointing out that it will be exclusively dealing with practical issues contributing to an improvement of the lives of citizens in both countries, and advancing of the European agenda of Kosovo and regional cooperation. 

Assessing the first round of the technical dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia as successful, Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri said that there has been progress in putting forward proposals for the topics discussed, like the cadastre, civil registry, custom seals and CEFTA. 

“Kosovo is ready for constructive agreements which do not affect the territorial sovereignty and integrity of the Republic of Kosovo,” said Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri.
 
Ambassador Lauka said that the Government of the Republic of Albania fully supports the technical dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia and highly assessed the importance of practical issues which depend on normal relations in the field of economy, free trade, movement of people, etc, expressing hope that they practically can open a new chapter in the relations between the state of Kosovo and Serbia.
