Minister for dialogue Edita Tahiri, has informed the European Union about the ban of  the former President's visit, Atifete Jahjaga, in Belgrade by the Serbian authorities, pointing out that with this act of rejection Serbia has violated the Brussels agreement on freedom of movement and the for official visits between the two states.

She said that Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga had respected the official procedures envisaged in the Brussels Agreement and that her visit was for cultural and humanitarian purposes to present the tragedy of women survivors of sexual assaults during the war in Kosovo by Serbian forces, at a cultural event in Belgrade.

Minister Tahiri emphasized that the act of rejection by Serbia clearly shows that Serbia is not ready to face its aggressive and genocidal past on Albanians and this also shows that they are not ready for peace, justice and neighbourly relations between the two states, Kosovo and Serbia, which is a key objective of the EU-facilitated Dialogue.

Minister Tahiri asked the EU to intervene in solving this issue as soon as possible and to enable this visit that is in the service of peace and neighbourliness between the two states.
