Kryeministri në detyrë i Republikës së Kosovës, Albin Kurti, mori pjesë në pritjen lamtumirëse të organizuar për Koordinatoren Rezidente të Kombeve të Bashkuara në Kosovë, Arnhild Spence.
Në fjalën e tij në këtë ngjarje, kryeministri tha se Arnhild Spence mori drejtimin si Koordinatore në një kohë trazirash globale, me botën që përballej me sfida të shumta, nga pushtimi rus i Ukrainës deri te ndikimi në kostot globale të jetesës dhe krizat energjetike. Ai tha se gjatë gjithë kësaj periudhe, Kosova pati fatin ta kishte Arnhild si një partnere të ngushtë të Qeverisë.
“Edhe falë bashkëpunimit tonë të shkëlqyer, zhvillimi i vendit tonë jo vetëm që vazhdoi në trajektoren e duhur, por edhe ka lulëzuar përkundër këtyre sfidave. Ky progres i jashtëzakonshëm vazhdon të konfirmohet në të dhënat e fundit, të cilat tregojnë se në tremujorin e parë të vitit 2025, ekonomia e Kosovës u rrit me një normë vjetore prej 3.6%”, tha kryeministri Kurti.
Në vijim kryeministri Kurti vlerësoi lartë mbështetjen e Koordinatores Spence, duke thënë se ajo ka luajtur një rol thelbësor në bashkëpunimin e Qeverisë me ekipin e OKB-së.
Po ashtu, potencoi se të frymëzuar nga përkushtimi juaj, do të vazhdojmë të përparojmë Objektivat e Zhvillimit të Qëndrueshëm dhe të punojmë drejt një të ardhmeje më të ndritur dhe më shpresëdhënëse për brezat që do të vijnë.

Honorable guests, dear colleagues and friends,
It is a bittersweet moment as we gather to celebrate the work of our friend and partner, Ms. Arnhild Spence, the United Nations Development Coordinator — but also sadly to bid her farewell.
Arnhild took the helm of Development Coordinator at a time of global turmoil, with the world facing multiple challenges, from Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine to the global cost of living and energy crises.
Throughout this period, Kosova was fortunate to have Arnhild as a close partner of the Government. In part due to our excellent collaboration, our country’s development has not only remained on track, but has thrived in the face of these challenges. This remarkable progress continues to be confirmed in the latest data, which show that in the first quarter of 2025, Kosova’s economy grew at a 3.6% annualized rate.
But of course, social justice cannot be measured solely by numbers and statistics. With the help of Arnhild’s team and other partners, we have ensured that Kosova’s economic growth is distributed widely among all of our citizens, through initiatives on gender equality, worker’s rights, environmental protection, anti-discrimination, the expansion of opportunities for non-majority communities, and much more.
Arnhild, your journey here was of commitment and dedication. You’ve guided our partnership with care, reflecting your professional excellence but also your profound humanity.
Your personal support has played an essential role in the Government’s collaboration with the entire UN development team. During your tenure, the Government has strengthened legal mechanisms for structured and effective cooperation with UN agencies, deepening partnerships in strategically important areas for the well-being of our citizens.
Your Norwegian diplomacy mixed with Kosova’s generosity proved to be a great recipe. Arnhild, you’ve worked everywhere from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Pakistan, but we hope your stay in Kosova has finally taught you the true art of enjoying three coffees before noon.
On a more serious note, I hope that in your vast tapestry of global memories, our vibrant culture and renowned hospitality will hold a special place in your heart — just as you will always hold a cherished place in ours. Beyond a development partner, you’ve been a friend of Kosova, committed to seeing our country flourish.
With the United Nations Kosova Team, we will continue to build on the progress we’ve made together, working toward a more equitable and sustainable future in line with the 2030 Agenda.
