The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci met today with representatives of civil society organizations in Kosovo.
At a meeting organized by the Prishtina Institute for Political Studies and FOL Movement, with the participation of the Prishtina Political School and representatives of KIPRED, KDI, political parties and representatives of the media, the Prime Minister has spoken on current political developments in the country.
The Prime Minister, talking about electoral reform, reiterated his willingness and that of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to complete the process successfully.
“It is important that there is a stable political and civic unity that will ensure qualitative additions to the electoral reform”, said Thaci.
Responding to the interest of civil society representatives on the telephone code of Kosovo, Prime Minister Thaci stated that Kosovo will have its telephone code through a European state.
Regarding the powers of the Association of Serb majority municipalities, the Prime Minister said that the powers of the Association shall be the same as those of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities.
At today’s meeting, the Prime Minister, talking about the interstate agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, has reiterated that reaching this agreement is of great importance for both countries and the process of European integration, given that the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is among the criteria for the integration of the two countries in the EU.
“The agreement is in full compliance with the Constitution and with the laws of Kosovo”, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister also responded to other interests of the representatives of civil society and media.
