The Government of Kosovo held its regular meeting and in this meeting it approved the Draft Law on amending and supplementing the Law on Religious Freedoms in Kosovo, the Draft Law on Blind and Short-Sighted Persons, as well as other decisions deriving from its constitutional and legal responsibilities.

The Draft Law on amending and supplementing  the Law on Religious Freedoms  in Kosovo defines the registration of religious communities in Kosovo, their rights and legal position and the payment of  the income tax for the persons employed in these communities. Whereas, the Draft Law on Blind and Short-Sighted Persons defines the status, benefits and the protection of blind and short-sighted persons in Kosovo.

The Government has approved a decision on supplementing and amending the legislative Strategy for 2011 and the decision for allocation of funds for the implementation of Government’s decision on funding the projects in new municipalities.

The Ministry of Finances has proposed and the Government has approved the decision for fulfillment of the list of budgetary savings for 2011, as well as the decision for reduction of funds in the Ministry of Justice.

The Government has established the Inter-ministerial Committee on methodology, analysis and definition of benefits and qualification criteria for former political prisoners. The Commission will analyze as well the run an assessment of budgetary impact for the next five years of the Law on the Rights of Former Politically Convicted and Persecuted Persons.

The Minister of the Security Force informed the government cabinet on the ceremony of  KSF command change, which has demonstrated KSF’s high level and achievement standards. Minister Agim Çeku said that the commander of KFOR, Erhard Drews, has stated that KSF has reached full operational capacities, which is an important achievement of this force.

The Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj informed on developments of KEK distribution privatization process
