The Government of the Republic of Kosovo, under the leadership of Prime Minister Thaçi, convened on its regular meeting.
On his opening remarks, Prime Minister Thaçi, on behalf of the Government of Kosovo, expressed his gratitude to the International Steering Group which has once again reconfirmed its support for the process of building up the state of Kosovo. This is another support on the engagement of our institutions for Kosovo’s European future and for the visa liberalization process for the citizens of Kosovo, said Prime Minister Thaçi.
The Prime Minister informed the government cabinet that last week marked the beginning of the works on the expansion of Pristina International Airport, according to the agreement for the concession of this airport. We are in anticipation that investments in this airport will transform it into one of the most modern and the largest in the region, assessed Prime Minister Thaçi.
The project on the renovation of the sports hall, the construction of the business center and of a multifunctional center was presented yesterday in Mitrovica. These projects will be funded by the European Commission with 14.5 million Euros, and by the Government with 8.5 million Euros, the Prime Minister said.
“The news on the allocation of funds from the European Commission for supporting reforms in justice and in the public administration for the period of 2011-2013 at the amount of 203 million Euros is evidence that Kosovo is moving on the right direction, on the path towards integration and development.” Prime Minister Thaçi stated.
In the today’s meeting, the government cabinet approved the Draft Law on the Prevention of the Conflict of Interest in Exercising Public Functions; the Draft Law on the Declaration and the Control of the Senior Public Officials’ Wealth and the Declaration, Origin and Control of Gifts; The Draft Law on International Agreements; and the Draft Law on Kosovo’s Academy for Public Safety.
The National Strategy and the Action Plan for the Community Security and the Strategy for the Development of Medium and Small Enterprises were also approved in today’s cabinet meeting.
This meeting also approved the decision for determining responsibilities and procedures of the KSF disembarkation abroad, and the request for the allocation of the funds for the KIA’s special operational fund was also approved.
The Government approved the appointment of Zana Kotorri in the position of the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Communities and Returns and the appointment of Kapllan Halimi at the position of the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development.
In terms of its own legal and Constitutional responsibilities, the Government of Kosovo proposed Enver Halimi as board member at the Energy Regulatory Office.
