Statement by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, strongly condemns the violence against KFOR peacekeeping soldiers by criminal structures in the northern part of Kosovo. The statement reads:

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo strongly condemns the violence exercised by the Serbian parallel structures against KFOR soldiers leading to wounding of 20 KFOR soldiers. 

The Government of Kosovo is determined and it supports the full establishment of the rule of law throughout the entire territory of our country. 

All these parallel structures in the north that are hindering the freedom of movement and are confronting with the institutions of Kosovo and with the NATO peacekeeping troops will soon face justice and get the deserved punishment. 

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo will continue with a firm commitment to implement its vision for opening of the economic development perspective and for holding of a democratic electoral process also in the northern part of Kosovo. 

In this direction, the Government will be in full coordination with all the relevant international factors.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi wishes a quick recovery of all the KFOR soldiers wounded in the last night’s attack.
