Public discussion about Final Draft on Kosova Program for Gender Equality

Gender Equality Agency – Office of the Prime Minister, organized a public meeting to discuss the final draft of the Kosova Program for Gender Equality (PKBGJ). During the meeting chaired by acting GEA chief, Shqipe Krasniqi and Izet Sadiku, head of the steering committee for drafting of the PKBGJ, they presented to the participants the objectives, activities and budget line for the PKBGJ and also the stakeholders involved in the process.

The head of the Parliamentary Commission on human rights, equal opportunities, missing persons and petitions, Ismet Beqiri, also addressed the meeting. During the meeting, the working groups’ coordinators, experts from various social and political fields and KPS, presented various PKBGJ chapters.
During the meeting, with the participation of representatives from the central and municipal level, from the civil society, Prishtina University, there was discussion on the final draft and there were remarks made on the content of the PKBGJ draft and its financial implication.
The head of the GEA concluded the meeting thanking all the stakeholders for their contribution in drafting the PKBGJ, which as she said “is a product of experts from the ministries, municipalities and the civil society. GEA/PMO played only a coordination role and that they are honored to present the program in the Government as a joint outcome”.
 
Kosova Program for Gender Equality is a strategic program for the integration of the gender perspective in the political activities of the Government of Kosova.
 
PKBGJ has been financed by UNMIK and the GEA/PMO will present it to the Government for adoption at the end of March.
