The message from Prime Minister Thaçi said:

President of the United States of America George W Bush’s signing of the Membership Protocol for Albania in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation is a historic achievement for Albania.
Personally and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, I congratulate you on this event, believing that as a member of NATO, the Republic of Albania will soon also become part of the European Union.
The politics of the Albanian state continue to be a factor for stability and peace in the region. By cultivating the political philosophy of neighborliness, intensifying general reform, and fulfilling high democratic standards; Albania is entering into a safe European future.
The example of Albania is encouraging for the independent and sovereign state of Kosovo. The vision of Kosovo’s institutions, supported by its friends and the international community, is a vision of integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.
