Prishtina, 5 May 2011

The Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi met the International Civilian Representative in Kosovo, Pieter Feith, with whom he discussed future steps in the newly created situation.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Thaçi emphasized that we will work together for the full implementation of President Ahtisaari’s document, for the stronger integration of all communities in Kosovar institutions and society, the process of Kosovo’s democratization and implementation of democratic reforms in order to successfully conclude the process of supervised independence within the European agenda of the Republic of Kosovo.

“This cooperation must be close and with complete trust in success, and so we will continue the planned agenda, which is the joint agenda of Kosovo and international mechanisms.

Meanwhile, Mr. Feith emphasized that the period of the ‘two hats’ ended with the conclusion of his mandate as representative of the European Union and from now on, I will continue to function in support of states which have recognized and support Kosovo, as the head of the ICO, as a supervisory international representative.

“I will work very closely with the government for the realization of the comprehensive settlement for the resolution of status. The Ahtisaari Plan, as you know, is a project for a modern, effective, functional, multi-ethnic and democratic Kosovo, recognized by all states of the world and progressing with determination toward a European future and the cultivation of genuine cooperation”, said Mr. Feith.
