Prime Minister Thaçi gets promises for new recognitions of the state of Kosovo

Prime Minister Thaçi met with the President of Turkey, Abdullah Gül, the Secretary General of the UN General Assembly, Joseph Deiss, the Secretary General of the African Union Mohamed Ibn Chambas, the head of St. Vincente and Grenadines, Frederick Ballantyne, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Adolphe Muzito and the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Oqil Oqilov.

In these meetings, Prime Minister Thaçi briefed his interlocutors on the progress made in Kosovo and the stability that the new state of Kosovo has created and on the need to be further recognized by UN governments and member states.

In all the meetings, Prime Minister Thaçi asked his interlocutors, namely their respective governments, to recognize the Republic of Kosovo. Most of the leaders he met promised that they will consider recognition of the independence of Kosovo in the future.
