The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci closely inspected the ongoing construction works on the Nation’s Road, where he was informed on the course of works on sectors 7 and 8, in the industrial area, between Fushë Kosova and Prishtina.
The Prime Minister was informed by the directors of the consortium “Bechtel-Enka” on the intensity of the work, showing maximum commitment to the completion of the project on time.
During the visit, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the quality of construction works of the highway.
The following is the complete statement of the Prime Minister:
We are here today in a joint inspection with the Minister of Infrastructure and the Deputy Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, on Sectors 7 and 8 of the construction of the nation’s highway.
Works are going as planned, with very high intensity labor.
This is the new project of Kosovo. Paving has just begun on sector 9. Here we are at the Industrial Zone, between Fushë Kosova and Prishtina.
This project was needed for Kosovo, for the region, a project that has gained the highest prizes for infrastructure in the region, and the highest international prizes. It makes us feel good and proud too. This is the new project of Kosovo, European Kosovo; it is a milestone project for the European, modern and development future, of our country.
This project is also creating new jobs, which increase the welfare of citizens. We are at this extremely labor intensive period of completion of this project, of the road of the nation, opening the opportunity to immediately start by autumn of this year the construction of the new project, a new highway linking Prishtina with Kacanik, Hani Elezit to Skopje. This project is also extremely important.
Kosovo is gradually becoming a crossroads for the region, with the most modern infrastructure in the Balkans. Therefore, we will continue with these projects, we will continue to do our best to change our country for the better, so that indeed every citizen of the Republic of Kosovo feels good and proud in the new Kosovo, in the developed Kosovo, in European Kosovo.
