Prime minister of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, had a meeting today with leader of general auditor of Kosovo, Mrs. Linda Casella.
Prime minister Thaçi was informed about the up to now work from Mrs. Casella, and according to him this work is excellent, very serious and responsible, for 2006, and has taken an extra information that the audit for ministries and last government will probably end in the may of this year.
Mr. Thaçi expressed the special satisfaction about the meeting with the leader of general auditor of Kosovo, emphasizing that commitment, responsibility, his and governments vision , from the first day of its creation, was the good governance, the rule of law, transparence, war against corruption, zero tolerance toward negative occurrences. ”so, today, I have invited Mrs. Casella to have a meeting to give her the complete support in her work, a support which will function with democratic function, effective and efficacy of all Kosovo institutions”, said the prime minister.
Prime minister, in this occasion requested from the leader of general auditor of Kosovo to start immediately the audit from the first day of government work which is leaded by him, starting from the Office of prime minister and all ministries and local authorities, in order to have complete transparence and close corporation, and also to have institutions that merits the citizens of Kosovo.” This is part of new governemnt philosophy and part of the battle in war against corruption and negative occurrences. Naturally that another part of these commitments will be the audit of performance, which will be an extra audit, not just toward them who have broken the law but also toward them who did not complete their duties well, that have created favors non breaking the law, so toward them who have created favorable or discriminative circumstances , that are not in accordance with authentic level of Kosovo institutions and with the highest responsibility”, said Mr. Thaçi.
Also the prime minister claimed that he has accepted some of the audios, which has finished this Office. “I can just premise with the highest responsibility as prime minister of Kosovo, that I will request the immediate initiation of the deep investigations from relevant justice authorities toward there companies – champions of corruption and bad management in Kosovo: KEK, PTK and international airport of pristine, in order that this audit not to remain a valueless letter, but to be a commitment for zero tolerance in the battle toward corruption. These companies were until today champions of corruption, but they will not be anymore. They will part of deep investigations of the justice organs in the future”, emphasized the Prime Minister Thaçi.
The leader of general auditor of Kosovo, Mrs. Linda Casella, thanked the prime minister Thaçi for the meeting , where she handed the sixteenth reports of general auditor of Kosovo , which includes professional recommendations for the strengthen of internal checking , in order to improve the financial management in the institutions of Kosovo.
