Prime Minister Mustafa: Kosovo has met the criteria for visa liberalization

Brussels, 18 November 2015

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, met today in Brussels with High Commissioner of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice President of the EC, Federica Mogherini and member of the European Parliament, Ulrike Lunacek.

During the meeting, where the First Deputy Prime Minister, also the Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaçi and the Minister of European Integration, Bekim Çollaku were present, Prime Minister Mustafa has sought support for the European integration process, in particular on visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens.

Prime Minister Mustafa also informed the Commissioner Mogherini about current processes in Kosovo and the Kosovo Government commitment to economic and social development of the country.

Prime Minister Mustafa also spoke about the Kosovo Government commitment to advancing the European integration process, after the signing and ratification of the SAA in the Assembly.

High Commissioner of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, praised the progress achieved in Kosovo, expressing support for the European integration processes.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Mustafa and Commissioner Mogherini have also discussed the process of dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia, facilitated by the European Union.

In this context, it has been stressed the need of continuing the dialogue to improve relations between the two countries, and praised Kosovo constructive approach in this process.

Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, during the meeting, sought visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo, because Kosovo has fulfilled the necessary criteria.

During the meeting with the member of the European Parliament, Ulrike Lunacek, Prime Minister Mustafa sought support for European integration processes, and in particular on visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens.

Prime Minister Mustafa thanked MEP Lunacek for the support given to Kosovo, informing about the Kosovo Government commitment for development of the country, with particular emphasis on economic development.

Deputy of the European Parliament, Ulrike Lunacek, expressed her further support for Kosovo.
 
During the visit to Brussels today Prime Minister Mustafa and the Kosovo Government Delegation held a separate meeting with Kosovar businessmen operating in Belgium.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Mustafa informed the businessmen about important reforms undertaken by the Government, which have significantly improved the environment for doing business in Kosovo, as well as fiscal reforms, financial stability and the numerous opportunities which Kosovo offers for businesses.
