Prime Minister Kurti was received in the meeting at the Austrian Academy of Sciences by Professor Oliver Schmitt

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, began his stay in Austria with a meeting at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, when he was welcomed by the Chairman of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Oliver Schmitt and two researchers in the Balkan Studies unit, Dr. Joachim Marzinger and Dr. Robert Pichler.

During the conversation, they talked about the Academy’s work in general and the Balkan Studies unit in particular. In the framework of this meeting, Prime Minister Kurti also visited the Albanology department where he was presented with rare original publications from the Renaissance period.

The Austrian Academy of Sciences was founded in 1847. Consisting of 25 research institutes in the fields of the arts, humanities and social sciences, and natural sciences, it is Austria’s leading non-university institution for basic research.

Prime Minister Kurti is staying in Austria to participate in the Summit of the Leaders of Socialists and Democrats of the Western Balkans, with the theme “Expansion of the Western Balkans NOW! For a social, democratic, peaceful society”.
