Prime Minister Kurti hosted representatives of the International Monetary Fund at a meeting

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi and the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, Luan Dalipi, hosted representatives of the International Monetary Fund in a meeting during the day.

Prime Minister Kurti welcomed the team and thanked them for the fruitful cooperation. The joint projects with the IMF were in the focus of the discussion.

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo was assessed for economic development in the last two years. It was emphasized that budget revenues have increased by about 15%, while the level of inflation has dropped significantly, to only 2.8% in June.

The Prime Minister underlined that according to TAK data, for the first time our economy has over 400,000 registered active labor force positions. Thus serving as evidence of the success of our labor and economic policies that have helped women, people with disabilities, entrepreneurs and others to be successful participants in the workforce.

IMF representatives said that considering these data and developments, Kosovo has a bright future ahead. They also expressed gratitude for the good cooperation between the IMF and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

The delegation from the IMF was led by the Deputy Director of the Department for Europe of the IMF, Mark Horton. He was accompanied by the head of the IMF mission in Kosovo, Gabriel di Bella and their respective teams.
