Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, on the sixth anniversary of the declaration of independence, has paid homage at the tomb of the legendary commander Adem Jashari and the tomb of President Ibrahim Rugova

Following the agenda of events to mark the sixth anniversary of the declaration of independence of the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and President Atifete Jahjaga paid homage at the tomb of the legendary commander Adem Jashari in Prekaz and the tomb of President Ibrahim Rugova.

After the tributes before the tomb of the legendary commander Adem Jashari, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci told reporters:

“Today we mark the most crucial event in the history of Kosovo, the Independence Day. Therefore we are here to commemorate the sacrifice of all the martyrs of the Kosovo Liberation Army, war invalids, veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army, to respect and honor the sacrifice of all Kosovo citizens for freedom and independence.

We’re here today in Prekaz to get more energy from the respect for life, work and heroic sacrifice of legendary commander Adem Jashari and Jashari family.”

After tributes at the tomb of the late President Ibrahim Rugova, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said:

“We are here today, together with President Jahjaga, to commemorate the life and work of President Rugova, on the sixth anniversary of independence of Kosovo. At this time, when we have won 106 international recognitions, as we consolidate and strengthen our country, as we strengthen the international standing of our state, of this success story of the people of Kosovo and the international community, recalling the sacrifice of all citizens of our country, President Ibrahim Rugova played an important role for this new history and statebuilding in Kosovo. So today we are here to present state honors and respect.”
