Prime Minister Haradinaj: Kosovo will develop strategic partnership with Germany

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, attended the German Cooperation Day organized by the German Embassy in Kosovo.

Before those present, Prime Minister Haradinaj stressed that bilateral relations between Kosovo and Germany are strategic and specific.

“In times of hardship, German support was crucial to peace and state-building efforts in Kosovo, and today Germany continues to be the biggest supporter of Euro-Atlantic Kosovo, as well as its security and stability” said Prime Minister Haradinaj.

Further on, the Prime Minister emphasized that Germany is the second largest donor in Kosovo, with an important role in all aspects of the development agenda, be it in sustainable economic development, in public administration and democracy, or in the energy sector.

Prime Minister Haradinaj said that Kosovars living in Germany are an added value of relations between Kosovo and Germany. “With this intensity of cooperation, not only will there be no more refugees from Kosovo in Germany, but many of them who today live in Germany may return for investment in Kosovo”, said the Prime Minister.

While speaking about Germany's financial assistance to Kosovo, the Prime Minister said that this assistance is not just in monetary terms, but even the expertise and advice from Germany are important to Kosovo and its citizens.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Haradinaj stressed that he was impressed by his visit to the high school “Loyola” in Prizren, where he could closely watch the organization of quality education which represents a success story Kosovo must follow.

In this context, the Kosovo Government will support the German High Vocational School in Prizren which will be located on the current German KFOR campus.

“Kosovo will appreciate the strategic partnership with Germany by doing responsible work in order to make a positive change for the future of Kosovo”, said Prime Minister Haradinaj.

After thanking the partners, Government and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and after praising the deep cooperation and trust, the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Christian Heldt, said that Germany and Kosovo can be proud of their long, friendly and successful relations.
