Government of the Republic of Kosovo informs that the military radar is not activated, which has been installed before the war in the Mountain of Kopaonik, which was bombed by NATO during the airstrikes of 1999. The Government of Kosovo has officially communicated with KFOR of which received official confirmation on this matter. In the framework of its powers, KFOR conducts regular inspections on the location of the radar demolished to verify its condition. The radar destroyed Serbian military is not reactivated nor re-installed any new radar at this point. Moreover, according to the confirmation of KFOR, the reactivation of the above mentioned radar is strictly prohibited by the Kumanovo Agreement of 1999.
Government of Kosovo, on this occasion, praises KFOR for mutual cooperation and express the highest consideration for their contribution in maintaining security in our country.
Government of Kosovo gives this notice to disprove the news of recent days in some media, which refer to the statements of the NGO “Kosovo Centre for Security Studies” that Serbia has reactivated the military radar in the Mountain of Kopaonik, inside the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
