The message of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, for the fifth anniversary of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kosovo, reads:
April 9th – the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kosovo – is one of the important historic moments of the democratic Kosovo state.
The Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo is the crowning of the centuries long struggle of Kosovo to become an equal entity to the free and sovereign nations.
The Constitution Day is an important political event, because Kosovo for the first time sanctioned the democratic will of its citizens, by expressing the rights and obligations of individuals and the society with the highest democratic spirit.
The fifth anniversary of the Constitution is a date that strengthens freedom, consolidates democracy, increases tolerance, emancipates and develops out society and our state.
On this fifth anniversary, re reiterate that the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo will be respected and will be fully upheld on every corner of the territory of our country, and there can be no dilemmas to this regard. There’s no doubt that even the agreement for the normalization of relations between the state of Kosovo and Serbia will have to be in full accordance to the Constitution and Laws of the Republic of Kosovo.
The citizens of Kosovo await the fifth anniversary of the Constitution Day with clear European and Euro-Atlantic prospects, with high dedication from the institutions to advance the values of good governance, rule of law, sustainable economic development and increased social and economic wellbeing of our citizens.
