The Government of the Republic of Kosovo held its regular meeting today and approved decisions and other government policy documents within the scope of its constitutional and legal mandate.
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi.
The Government approved a decision to establish a council to be tasked with the implementation of the government strategy to cooperate with the civil society. The council will be composed of 25 members, 12 representatives from the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and 13 members from the civil society. The council is headed by one of the deputy prime ministers of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and one representative appointed by CiviKos Platform as a co-chair.
The Government Cabinet approved the spatial plan “Natural monument of special importance, Mirusha waterfalls.” The monument’s spatial plan intends to treat the natural monument in a way that ensures compliance with legal regulations and international requirements, in an attempt to make it attractive for various visitors, tourists and researchers.
The Cabinet also approved the spatial plan of the protected zone of special interest “Koshare battle”. The “Koshare battle” is declared as protected zone of special interest because of its special value and the cultural and historical character of the KLA war during the period of 1998-1999.
In an attempt to prevent negative developments having an impact on the degradation of the special national zone “Bjeshkët e Nemuna”, the Government approved a decision to draft a spatial plan for the zone of special national interest “Bjeshkët e Nemuna”.
In today’s meeting, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo amended its earlier decision related to the tendering package of the “Kosova e Re PP” project, by removing from the package the development of the Sibovc mine and amended the decision to propose members of the Public Procurement Review Body, by adding Bajram Zogiani to the list of proposed candidates.
The Government Cabinet also amended the government decision on entry requirements and visa regimes for foreign citizens to the Republic of Kosovo. Bosnia and Herzegovina has been added to the list of countries that will need visas to enter the Republic of Kosovo.
In today’s meeting, the Government of Kosovo allocated 15 (fifteen) thousand euros as financial support for the family and to cover burial expenses of the late Dimitrije Janicijevic.
The Cabinet approved in today’s meeting a decision to establish an organizational committee to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the declaration of independence. The committee will be composed of:
1. Agim Çeku, Minister of Security Force, chairman;
2. Minister of Culture;
3. Minister of Foreign Affairs;
4. Minister of Internal Affairs;
5. Representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister;
6. Representative from the Office of the President;
7. Representative from the Assembly of Kosovo;
8. Representatives from the Municipality of Prishtina;
9. Representatives from the Association of Kosovo Municipalities;
10. Representatives from the KLA war associations;
11. Representatives from civil society.
The Government approved a budget for manifestations to mark the sixth anniversary of the declaration of independence.
Following an approval today by the Government’s Cabinet, preparing of a draft law for veterans was included in the Legislative Plan 2014.
