The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri met Lida Rragami, President of the Global Network of Albanian Women, which has its headquarters in London, and with whom she discussed strengthening links with the Albanian Diaspora.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri emphasized the importance of increasing cooperation between the Albanian Diaspora and the homeland in the interest of empowering the Albanian nation and Albanian women. In this context, they praised the results of the Summit, “The Albanian Woman and her journey in 100 years of independence,” held in Prishtina, on the occasion of the centennial of Albania’s independence. They jointly concluded that implementing the recommendations of the Summit would contribute to the shared objective of improving the position of women in Albanian society.
Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri praised highly the contribution of the Albanian Diaspora in all phases of Kosovo’s liberation and independence, emphasizing that in this phase the Diaspora can play an important role in strengthening the economy and prosperity of the states of Kosovo and Albania, as well as the Albanian nation, in order to speed up Euro-Atlantic integration.
Ms. Rragami thanked the Kosovo Government for supporting the strengthening of links with the Diaspora.
