Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri meets a delegation from the Foreign Ministry of Hungary

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri met the Deputy Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, who is also the Political Director, Mr. Péter Sztáray, accompanied by Mr. Krisztián Pósa, Director for the Balkans in the MFA of Hungary, the Ambassador of Hungary to Kosovo, Mr. Lóránt Balla as well as Mr. István Sipos, Deputy Ambassador.
 
In the beginning, Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri thanked Hungary for the continual support that it has given to Kosovo through bilateral and multi-lateral cooperation, and she praised highly Hungary’s engagement in KFOR and EULEX in Kosovo.

In the meeting, they talked about further deepening relations between the two countries, focusing on the economy and other areas of mutual interest. In addition, they discussed concluding bilateral relations and opportunities to sign new agreements on cooperation in areas of joint interest.
 
Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri also informed Hungarian diplomats about the progress achieved in Kosovo and the reforms being undertaken by the Kosovo Government with regard to the democratic and economic development of our country.

“The vision of the Kosovo Government is for a Euro-Atlantic Kosovo which is becoming more of a reality every day”, said Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri, expressing appreciation for the importance of cooperation and exchange of experiences with Hungary with regard to achieving this goal.

Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri said that Kosovo is committed to good neighborliness, and regional cooperation, expressing the conviction that dialogue on normalizing inter-state relations between Kosovo and Serbia will end positively, in the interests of peace and stability in this part of Europe.

“This dialogue must end with mutual recognition between the two states of Kosovo and of Serbia, and it must open a new chapter of peace”, said Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri.
 
The Deputy Secretary of Hungary thanked Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri for her welcome and expressed Hungary’s readiness to increase cooperation between the two countries. He praised highly the comprehensive progress made in Kosovo and Kosovo’s constructive role in the dialogue for normalizing relations with Serbia, reconfirming Hungary’s support for Kosovo’s European and Euro-Atlantic perspective.
