The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Ramë Manaj, today met with, in an acquaintance meeting, the Deputy Ambassador of the United States of America in Prishtina, Mr. Michael Murphy.

Deputy Prime Minister Manaj briefed the US Deputy Ambassador on the government efforts to accomplish its objectives and to extend its authority throughout the entire territory of the state of Kosovo, to functionalize the democratic institutions and to include all the communities in political and social life. 

“There is noticeable progress in Kosovo, but there are many challenges. The will and the commitment of the government is firm with regards to solving issues of national interest – Euro-Atlantic integration and recognition of our independent state,” said Mr. Manaj, adding, “Throughout this whole process, we have had the support of the US, the US Embassy and Ambassador Tina Kaidanow, and for this, I would like to express the gratitude of the Government of Kosovo.” 

Further on, Mr. Manaj said that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is working on the process of decentralization with a high sense of responsibility and tolerance and on convincing the Serb community to participate in the forthcoming local elections due to take place in November of this year. 

The Deputy Ambassador of the United States in Prishtina, Mr. Michael Murphy, assured Deputy Prime Minister Manaj of the support and cooperation of the US and Ambassador Dell with the Government of Kosovo.
