Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri, met with the European Parliament Rapporteur for Kosovo, Ulrike Lunacek

The meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri and the European Parliament Rapporteur for Kosovo, Ulrike Lunacek, was focused on the talks on the political and security situation in country and in particular, on the flow of the technical dialogue.

Ms. Lunacek, who is preparing the European Parliament Report on Kosovo, expressed her interest particularly on the challenges of the technical dialogue as well as the pathways which may lead to better results of this dialogue.

Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri spoke of the commitment of the Government of Kosovo good neighbouring relations and regional cooperation as standards for European Integrations and also regarded the high performance and constructivism of Kosovo in the technical dialogue as well as the contribution provided for the success of this dialogue and in the best interest of the citizens.

Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri requested that Kosovo be rewarded for its constructivism in this dialogue by receiving contractual relations with the European Union on this case she underscored that a consensus should be found within the EU in supporting Kosovo’s progress towards the EU.

Among others, the interlocutors regarded the opportunity to consolidate law and order throughout the territory of Kosovo and the visa liberalization dialogue and also agreed for a speedy integration of Kosovo and of the region into the European Union as an essential prerequisite for regional stability.
