Minister Edita Tahiri hosted Baroness Ashton and General Jackson

Minister Edita Tahiri met today at a luncheon meeting former EU High Representative Baroness Catherine Ashton and former first-General of KFOR in Kosovo, Sir Mike Jackson.
 
Minister Tahiri thanked both these personalities for their contribution and the UK at all stages of freedom, independence and state-building in Kosovo, starting with the liberation in 1999 of up to concretization of process of integration into the European Union and in NATO.
 
At this meeting they evoked memories of cooperation from the time of entry of NATO into Kosovo and historic role of General Jackson in Deployment of KFOR in Kosovo, as a very important moment in the permanent removal of the Serb forces from Kosovo and stopping Serbian genocide against Albanians.
It was also discussed for the leading role of Mrs. Ashton in Brussels dialogue for peace, good neighbourliness and Euro-Atlantic integration process that led to the first agreement signed between the two countries and which enabled Kosovo to enter into contractual relations with the EU by signing the Stabilization and Association agreement and followed by advancement of integration relation with NATO.
 
Minister Tahiri on this occasion said that the two personalities have taken honourable place in the new history of Kosovo and the Albanian nation.
Minister Edita Tahiri said that Kosovo will remain committed to Euro-Atlantic vision of Kosovo, and we are working hard to build a democratic state, integrated into the EU, NATO and the UN. Kosovo is proving a factor of peace and stability in the region and stands strongly with the American and Western alliance in all global challenges of security, she said, adding that Kosovo will always be located on the right side to strengthen further strategic partnership with US, UK, EU and NATO.
