Prishtine, 5 March 2018
After signing the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, for further use of the camp in Prizren as a Kosovar-German innovative and training park (ITP), was made the presentation of the feasibility project by the representatives of the German GIZ.
During this presentation, the five areas that will be part of the economic park, such as: Innovation (Technology and Entrepreneurship); vocational training, formal and informal education; science and research; agriculture, and tourism and culture were elaborated in details.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj stressed that they are together with representatives of German institutions and German GIZ on a good mission, the second after the support that Germany has given in 1999.
“We united in 1999 to bring peace to our country when Germany, for the first time in its history, decides to send its peacekeeping troops to Kosovo and now after two decades, in the service of peace, people of good will, initiate the next step for the country's prosperity, the foundation of the Kosovar-German innovative and training park”, said Prime Minister Haradinaj.
Prime Minister Haradinaj thanked all the participants, emphasizing the commitment of continuing cooperation between Kosovo and Germany to found the economic park, which will contribute to the economic development of Kosovo and the region in general.
A key note speech before the audience was also attended by Heike Backofen, representative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany and the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Christian Heldt.
