Government of the Republic of Kosovo held its regular meeting, whereby approved the Draft Law on amendment and supplementation of the Law on Privatization Agency of Kosovo and other decisions of its constitutional and legal responsibilities.
In the opening remarks, Prime Minister Isa Mustafa spoke about the meeting, together with the Deputy Prime Minister Thaci and Deputy Prime Minister Stojanovic, conducted a day before with US Secretary of State John Kerry.
Prime Minister Mustafa said that during the meeting were discussed the current issues in Kosovo, Euro-Atlantic integration orientations for the work of the Government, for stability and peace in the region, and issues which currently concerns Kosovo.
“We have received full support for the work we are doing, and we are happy that to have such a very substantive and very dedicated meeting. Today, on behalf of the Government, I would like to thank Kerry for his visit to made in Kosovo, and American policy for their great commitment to our country. I also want to emphasize once again mine and also Deputy Minister Thaci’s commitment, as well the Government, any moment to sit down with the opposition, to discuss issues and concerns of the opposition to find a solution on the basis of the laws and Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, and Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of Kosovo. We call once again the opposition, to sit, to talk, to dialogue and find solutions. We think the best solution is discussion in the Assembly of Kosovo, where all MPs as representatives of the people can give their comments, suggestions and proposals. We are committed to find an institutional solution, we are committed to have no more tear gas in the Assembly, that those pictures are pictures of the past, and that the Assembly of Kosovo to work to the full position and Opposition and democratic way to handle all the issues that lie ahead of us “, said Prime Minister Isa Mustafa. Draft Law on amendment and supplementation of the Law on Privatization Agency of Kosovo is approved by the Cabinet. Amendments and supplementations of the Law aimed at regulating the composition of the Board of Directors of the Privatization Agency of Kosovo, the board selection and decision-making procedures of the board.
Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said that this issue is raised as emergency due to some incompatibility found in the existing Law regarding the appointment of the Board of Directors in Parliament, because there remains a provision which says that at least one must be external, while the mandate of external directors has passed and it would create a barrier that now the Parliament to decide on the board of directors. “We have raised an urgent need that our legal office to work together with the Ministry of Economic Development and incorporate this part in terms of electing the board, the board composition and decision-making board. Meanwhile, all other issues remain as issues on which we will work on amending and supplementing the Law on PAK, “said Prime Minister Mustafa, considering the reasonable requirements of the Minister of Agriculture, Memli Krasniqi, regarding agricultural lands.
Also, the Administrative Instruction for the organization of pre and general elections in Public University “Hasan Prishtina”, is approved today by the Government. The adoption of this directive opens the way for elections in the university during the spring of next year.
The Government has proposed to the Assembly candidates for members of the Board of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal.
In the meeting today, the Government of Kosovo has approved the decisions to reach financial initiatives IPA 2014 and IPA2015 cross-border cooperation between Kosovo and Macedonia.
Government of the Republic of Kosovo adopted the Strategy for quality assurance in pre-university education in Kosovo 2016 to 2021.
