On his visit to the United States of America, where he is participating in the work of the annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, attended a reception hosted by the US President, Barack Obama and the First Lady of the United States of America.
During the reception, Prime Minister Thaçi briefly informed the US President Barack Obama about the achievements of the state of Kosovo during the post-independence period and he set out the Kosovo Government’s vision and commitment to Kosovo’s European and Euro-Atlantic agenda.
On behalf of the Government and citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister Thaçi thanked President Obama for the constant support given to Kosovo at all times by the United States of America, starting with Kosovo’s liberation, independence and now its integration into the EU and NATO.
The President of the United States of America, Barack Obama praised the leadership of Prime Minister Thaçi throughout Kosovo’s state-building process, emphasizing his constructive role in the process of normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
