Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, held separate meetings with the LDK leader, Isa Mustafa and AAK deputy leader, Blerim Shala.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Thaçi informed Mr. Mustafa and Mr. Shala about the second meeting in Brussels with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, mediated by the European Union High Representative, Baroness Catherine Ashton.
Prime Minister Thaçi emphasized that of all the topics discussed, the priority was the issue of the missing, which is a humanitarian and very painful problem that has to be resolved. Another issue in this dialogue is the implementation of agreements reached up to now, as well as the necessity of transparency in Serbia’s financing of different sectors in Kosovo, especially parallel structures in the north of the country.
“Dismantling illegal security structures that operate in the north of the country is a key condition that Serbia must fulfill with regard to the European Union in order to make progress toward EU integration,” said Prime Minister Thaçi.
It was jointly concluded that this process is extraordinarily important, since it is the only opportunity and only way to normalize inter-state relations, by which not just the citizens and two countries will benefit, but also the entire region.
