It is with deep pain that we heard the news of passing away of the wise Albanian writer and politician, of the former Member of the Parliament of the Assembly of Albania, my friend, Sabri Godo.
In our Albanian society, culture and politics, Sabri Godo was renowned as one of the highest figures who throughout his life and activity reflected wisdom, encouraged cooperation, unity and determination in labouring for the good of the entire Albanian nation.
In the most difficult and decisive moments for the liberation of Kosovo, during the liberation war led by Kosovo Liberation Army, I am a witness to the valued contribution of Sabri Godo in powerfully supporting the war and the unification of the Albanian political spectrum so that it may serve to the full liberation of Kosovo.
The Government of the Republic of Kosovo, all institution of the country and the people of Kosovo will always be grateful and the irreplaceable role of the politician and intellectual Sabri Godo for the freedom and the independence of Kosovo.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and on my personal behalf, please accept my most sincere condolences for the departure from this life of the great supporter of Kosovo, Sabri Godo.
