Your Excellency, Mr. Sali Berisha,
In one year’s time there will one complete century since the most important act in the history of the Albanian nation, Declaration of the Independence of Albania, on 28 November 2012, which crowned the continual strive of our people for freedom and independence.
The Day of the Independence of Albania, the Flag Day, is an event deeply embodied in the historical memory of the Albanian nation and it nourishes feelings of pride, inspiration and increases the political, cultural and democratic awareness amongst all Albanians wherever they live.
The Flag Day is one of the events that has inspired many generations in their efforts for the freedom and liberation of Kosovo, the glorious war of the Kosovo Liberation Army, the achievement of freedom and the declaration of the Kosovo’s independence on 17 February 2008.
The 99th anniversary of its independence finds the Republic of Albania a consolidated state, integrated in NATO and with a visa liberalization right and with an infrastructure that steadily leads it towards integration in the European Union.
Albania, as a state with an economic development perspective, is playing an important role in the region, in terms of good neighborly relations, peace, stability, partnership and cooperation.
Kosovo is grateful for the contribution of Albania in every historical stage and takes joy in the achievements of the Albanian state, economic welfare for all its citizens, affirmation and overall progress in every area.
Mr. Prime Minister,
I have the honor and pleasure to congratulate you on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and on behalf of all its citizens on the 99th anniversary of the Flag Day with the best wishes to further advance victories and successes by the Albanian people.
