Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri meets Deputy Foreign Minister of Republic of Albania Edit Harxhi

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Edita Tahiri received in a meeting today the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Mrs. Edit Harxhi, and discussed with her about strengthening of bilateral relations between Kosovo and Albania and the Albanian support for the Euro-Atlantic integration of Kosovo and about the technical dialogue. 

 

Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri initially thanked the Government of Albania and Mrs. Harxhi for the strong support given for the statebuilding of Kosovo, and briefed her on the new program of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, pointing out that the Government is working for a modern and Euro-Atlantic Kosovo. To make this vision come true, we are working hard to make overall reforms in the country, like in the field of economic development, rule of law, improving of social welfare, and in terms of the foreign policy, we are engaged in ensuring a quick integration of Kosovo in the EU, NATO, UN and other international institutions, said Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri further spoke about the ongoing interstate dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, saying that there has been important progress and that concrete agreements on certain issues can be expected to be reached soon. 

 

On her part, Deputy Minister Harxhi was pleased with the meeting and said that the cooperation between the two countries will only intensify in all aspects. Albania supports a prosperous Kosovo and its Euro-Atlantic integration. 

Both interlocutors acknowledged the importance of national and international integrations as democratic developments of the new époque after the cold war and the democratization of this part of Europe.
