The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, sent his condolences to his counterpart, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Sali Berisha, on the occasion of the death, while on duty, of four Albanian policemen, in a direct clash against organized crime.
The following is the letter of condolences.
Dear Prime Minister Berisha,
It is with great sorrow that I received the news of the killing of four members of the Albanian Police, in combat directed against assailants of organized crime.
The Government of the Republic of Kosovo commiserates with you and the government you lead, with the families of the victims and with all the people of the Republic of Albania, in expressing our most sincere condolences.
The uncompromising fight against organized crime and all negative phenomena is and will continue to be our shared and enduring vision, so that, in all areas of our region, there is no room for crime and for criminals.
Police units which have been confronted by and which confront organized crime every day are the true heroes of our time.
