The Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Hashim Thaçi, today hosted a farewell meeting with the Commander of KFOR, General Xavier de Marnack.
Prime Minister Thaçi took the opportunity to thank General de Marnack for his good and honest co-operation with the Government of Kosovo.
Mr Thaçi particularly expressed his gratitude for the good and outstanding work of General de Marnack and the KFOR units in maintaining peace and security in a very important period, during which there were such historical occasions for Kosovo as the declaration of Independence, the approval of the Constitution and state Symbols and the holding of the Kosovo Donor Conference.
“All this period of success has been a period of close co-operation, so on behalf of the Government of Kosovo I offer my most sincere gratitude to the general for wonderful work”, said Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi, adding that Mr Xavier de Marnack had been, and would remain, a friend of Kosovo’s.
On his departure, the Commander of KFOR, General Xavier de Marnack, thanked the Prime Minister and the Government of Kosovo for good co-operation, and promised that he would help Kosovo and its people even after he had left Kosovo.
