Prime Minister Thaçi returns from EU Foreign Ministers meeting in Brdo: European community acknowledges progress made in Kosova

Upon his return to the Airport of Prishtina, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, said that all the EU member states support the independence of Kosova. “Even those countries that have not yet recognized the new state are in the process of recognition. A part of them will recognize us very soon, while the others in a short period of time,” said the Kosova Prime Minister.

In his meetings with Mr. Solana and other EU ministers, the Prime Minister of the Government of Kosova, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, talked about the agenda of Kosova and its path towards NATO and EU structures.

“The entire European community acknowledges the progress made in Kosova, the joint successes we are achieving with the international community. The institutions of Kosova are working on building a democratic reality, a democratic and multiethnic Kosova, but also on the applying of all the necessary criteria for the process of integration in politics, economy and legislation, always guaranteeing and respecting the rights of the minorities,” said Prime Minister Thaçi following his return from Slovenia where he participated in an informal meeting by the EU foreign ministers.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the adoption of the Constitution of Kosova will represent another step towards NATO and EU structures.

In the meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers held in Brdo near Kranj, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Hajredin Kuçi and his senior political advisor, Mr. Bekim Çollaku.
