Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi received a letter from the Hungarian Foreign Minister that confirmed the official recognition of the independent and sovereign state of Kosova by Hungary. The letter was handed over to the Prime Minister by the head of the Hungarian Liaison Office in Prishtina, Mr. Zoltan Imecs.
The Prime Minister expressed on behalf of the Government and the people of Kosova the appreciation for the Hungarian state and people for the recognition of the independence and for their overall support for Kosova. Kosova will be engaged in the future in building bilateral relations with Hungary in all the fields of cooperation.
The head of the Hungarian office reiterated the position of the Hungarian Government in support of the stability in the region and belief that the independence of Kosova will contribute to this stability.
