Kosova has always been a land of peace, cooperation and of religious and interethnic tolerance, a country of trust, solidarity, co-existence and of a clear pro-Western vision. This is what Kosova Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi said in today’s meeting with the head of the Islamic Community, Mufti Naim Tërnava and the head of the Kosova Catholic Church, Archbishop Dodë Gjergji.
Kosova Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi has called on for celebration of independence in dignity. “Kosova and the people of Kosova have always trusted in God, have always trusted in justice, and that is why we have triumphed,” said Prime Minister Thaçi.
Mr. Thaçi said that the celebration of the independence should be a day of gratefulness and appreciation for our allies that have contributed for an independent and sovereign Kosova.
The head of the Kosova Islamic Community, Mufti Naim Tërnava and Kosova Archbishop Dodë Gjergji thanked God for making it possible to celebrate the big day for our people together, adding that the people of Kosova have known how to suffer together, and they will know how to celebrate together and in dignity. Both religious leaders called on the people of Kosova to find inner strength to control joy, and not let happiness cause despair to the others, and asked the people to show dignity and democratic culture in celebrating the independence of Kosova.
