The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo for Minority Affairs and Human Rights, Emilija Rexhepi, hosted the deputy mayor of the municipality of Zveçan, Mrs. Natasha Tomaniq to discuss key issues affecting the local community.
The topic of this meeting was the attack on the property of deputy mayor Tomaniq, which Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi strongly condemned, calling it a cowardly attack on a brave woman who just wants to work and live in her country.
“This act is not only unjust but also unacceptable in a society that demands justice and solidarity. Violence should have no place in our society, and together we must resist any form of violence,” she said.
Speaking about the projects in this municipality, Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi said that she strongly supports the key projects that are of vital importance for all citizens of the municipality of Zveçan. Reconstruction of the river as a preventive measure against runoff and flooding will have a long-term impact on the safety of our fellow citizens. The construction of a central market, bus station, and taxi service, as well as the installation of slow barriers near schools, represent fundamental steps towards building a sustainable and functional local community.
Also at this meeting, the importance of supporting sports activities, especially winter tourism and camping, was discussed, which were assessed to not only encourage economic development, but also offer new opportunities for recreation and cooperation between citizens.
“Sport has the power to unite and build the community, and the creation of infrastructure will support various sports activities and will enable equal access for all”, said Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi.
Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi said on this occasion that the Municipality of Zveçan will have its strong support in the realization of all these initiatives, working together to create good conditions for the life of all citizens, to promote the development of the municipality and to fight together against violence and insecurity.
